Episode Summary
Hard Gay is out in the streets once again helping people with everyday things, such as crossing a pedestrian bridge or pumping gas at a self service station. Not only that, we learn a thing or two about Ballroom Dance and Golgo 13.
Translator's Notes
First off I'd like to note an error in the translation. It's not Sakura, it's Sakana. Sakana-kun is another gimmick comedian. (Japanese Wiki Entry) He had the same kind of an impact and career as most gimmick comedians do, really popular for a little while, then disappears. At least we know the host of Bakuten is wrong in that HG has a much better impact.
Next up is to note that when HG is waving the smoke at his crotch and the text says he's praying. The normal way to pray at an incense thing at temples like that is to bend your head down and put the smoke over your head. It's supposed to be good luck. HG just happened to be putting the smoke over his other head.
When HG says "Postwar leftovers, hooo!", he's really saying something along the lines of all the noise made during the postwar period, which was believed to have just been a sort of mention of that period of time and the people who lived through it.
Yes, he does say "poooo!" at the end of the bit.
And the pun on celebrity, the original word is "gei-nin" (芸人), celebrity, they're just capitalizing on the fact that the begining of the word, "gei", is how you would pronounce the word gay.
Some of the translations when the host is introducing the first couple, the siblings, and talking about their dreams and things are really rough, but since they're not really vital they weren't translated perfecftly. Just making sure that it's known before someone jumps on us for "bad translating", we know, we felt it wasn't entirely needed.
Golgo is an assasin from the popular manga Golgo 13
Also, this is the first time HG has shown up on the stage at Bakuten.
