Episode Summary

Hard Gay has decided that the words "lemon" and "Ramon" are fairly similar, and as such he is headed off to The Television (Japanese Wiki Entry) magazine to have himself put on the cover. Through various methods of persuasion, and having friends in the right places, he could possibly succeed in having himself and his estranged 'family' put on the front cover of the magazine.

Translator's Notes

The first thing to take note of is the fact that The Television magazine is a fairly popular magazine that talks about, you guessed it, stuff on TV. Their little gimmick is to have everyone on the front cover hold a lemon. That's it. Funny gimmick, no? I thought so too. Mostly the no part of it.

Afterwards, as was kind of explained in the episode, kawa (皮) means leather, so when HG changed the name of the company from Kadokawa to Hardkawa, he effectively changed the name of the company to Hard Leather. Which is what brought about the next line of him requesting the company to make the magazine out of all Hard Leather the next time.

Puns? HG wouldn't make puns, would he? Of course he would. When he was looking at the list of stars that would be on the cover of The Television, he mentions something to the effect of, "Love saves the world", and changing that to "Gay saves the world". The word for love in Japanese is ai (愛), and HG simply changed the first syllable into a 'ge' (ゲ), making it gei, or gay. He also did the same thing with Ima Ai ni Yukimasu, changing it to Ima Gei ni Yukimasu.

And now for yet another HGP, Hard Gay Pun. He brings a cake to the stars of Ima Ai ni Yukimasu, but he calls it a Hard Gayke. In Japanese, the word for cake is keiki (ケーキ), so he simply voiced the first letter and turned it into geiki (ゲーキ), which gives us Gayke. Best translation of the pun that we could think of.
